Judy Goetz

Meet the Founders |

Judy grew up the youngest of five, in Topeka, KS. As the child of an alcoholic, she honed her ability to turn “Lemons into Lemonade” at an early age. She knew early in life she wanted to use her experiences along with her ability to make something positive from her challenges to help people.

Eager to leave home and prove herself, she left and attended Kansas State University. While at K-State she fell in love with a former high school boyfriend, Aaron and married him in 1987. She graduated in 1988 with a degree in Advertising and Marketing and moved to North Carolina with Aaron.

Her first job out of school was working for a newspaper in advertising sales and while successful in this position, she longed to broaden her horizons. She took a job as a conference planner for Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business Executive Programs and then on to a conference planner for Duke Medical Center. Then in 1994, Judy became a mother for the first time and once again found benefit in her ability to make the best of a bad situation. Her son was born with a rare heart defect and severe developmental disabilities. Again, Judy found herself desiring to use her challenges to inspire people. Judy and her husband went on to have two more children.

Finally, when her eldest daughter started school and she joined the PTA, her life began to take the direction she was always sure it would. It was during this first year on the PTA that she co-chaired an event with Sonya May and immediately felt a connection. It was not long until she discovered they shared similar childhoods and much philosophy about life.

Now, thanks to Sonya’s wisdom and dream, Judy is finally able to use both her gift for gab and her life challenges to inspire people to make the “CHOICE” to find the JOY in their lives, regardless of their situations. Every cloud DOES indeed have a silver lining… Find it and the JOY is yours, baby!!!!!!!
